VQF files are a form of compressed sound files, similar to MP3 (MPEG [MovingPicturesExpertGroup] Layer 3) files. VQF files are usually about 20% smaller than MP3's, with at least the same quality. A 96Mhz VQF is the same quality as a 128Mhz MP3. I still mainly use MP3s because they are easier to come by. There was a large archive of VQF's at http://mdata.vqf.net/mdata/, but it seems to have disappeared.
